“Black and White” – High-Contrast Marks on Aluminum
We used a 20 Watt fiber laser (FOBA Y.0201) for marking anodized aluminum rings with scaling lines. Depending on the color of each part, different laser effects can be applied: Color change marking creates black lines on clear parts, while in a laser vaporization procedure the black anodized parts get slightly etched and marked with smooth white lines.
To position the intended marks round the circumference of the parts we used a rotary axis inside a laser marking station. The also integrated IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning) with optional vision-controlled Point & Shoot functionality created a camera view of the part along with the rotary segmentation mark layout. This enabled the user to apply the marks precisely.
